“Deliverance & Doubt” marks the debut album from South of Royal and the first official project of The Village Church Music, a vision to create biblical, creative, diverse and formational music by the church for the church. The album is an honest and fresh exploration into unbelief, giving voice to those who feel like they’re stuck in the desert, through a unique collision of worship and alternative synth rock. Borrowing the ethos of lament from the ancient church, “Deliverance & Doubt” threads that sense of worship into a vibrant modern style that runs the gamut of electro-pop, power ballads and rock, based in a bed of subtle 80s sounds.
God is a warrior fighting for me
forever reigning in victory
He has defeated death and the grave
He’s overcome sin with the power to save
“I knew the Lord’s mercy and grace fell upon me, knowing my sin was exposed. Because of that, knowing I would never be the same.”
All my chains are gone
they fell away like embers
from a burning tree
Scattered by the wind
never again to be seen
buried by a love that won’t cease to be
I’ll never be the same now
Perhaps You
Should
Turn Left
By Guy Delcambre
Give me all your gold
Give me all your silver
Even if I'm cold
I can still deliver
My mouth is dry
And there's sand in my shoes
And I'm starting to wonder
If I should have followed you
Tho' night be dark and it may seem
That day will never break
I'll pin my faith, my all in him
He maketh no mistake
All that he
means by
saying abyss.
By Guy Delcambre
You remain faithful
Even when I'm faithless
Your unfailing love
Never Failed me yet
Now to Him who is able
To keep you from falling
To Him who will keep you to the end
To Him be the glory
The honor and power
Forever and ever amen

The Village Church Music seeks to make disciples of Jesus Christ at The Village Church and beyond through biblical, creative, diverse and formational music. Our music seeks to proclaim the gospel story with themes and ideas inspired and informed by the Bible in an honest, distinct, compelling and creative way. South of Royal and their debut album, “Deliverance & Doubt”, is the first official project under The Village Church’s new direction with music, created to celebrate and bolster the unique giftings and styles of music at our campuses. We want to celebrate this diversity across our campuses while remaining unified as one church, exploring an array of different sounds and genres.
